about every buddha body
The name comes from the idea that everyone is a Buddha - "awakened one" - and every body deserves to feel like one. It came from giving many massages and watching the faces of each and every person transform from looking overworked, tired or stressed out to beaming bright and buddha-like. Some people's faces changed from the first moment I touched their feet. For others it was by the time I started stretching their spines or massaging their organs, but every body was glowing by the time I had massaged their faces. So I started saying that Thai Massage is for every buddha body.
There are lots of ways to make our bodies feel buddha-like. Thai massage is one, so is the practice of physical yoga and meditation. I hope to expand this site to include healthy eating (choosing good food is the best medicine) and some recipes for simple, organic vegetarian meals. For now, if you would like guidance in changing your lifestyle in relation to the food you eat, I am available for dietary consultation, as a personal chef, and for private or small group cooking lessons.
about jenn
Jenn Kelly is a dancer, writer, multimedia artist - and an explorer of the mind-body-spirit connection. She is certified in Traditional Thai Massage by Ananda Apfelbaum, in the style of Pichest Boonthumme. She also studied at Lotus Palm School in Montreal with Kam Thye Chow and Mia Blackwell, in the lineage of Ashokananda. Her own practice is a blend of these two schools with a dancer's sensitivity and a natural intuition for the needs of each individual body.
As a dedicated student of yoga since 2000, Jenn has studied Iyengar, Vinyasa, and practiced Mysore style Ashtanga five days a week for three years with Eddie Stern and Sarah Plumer in New York. She also studied Chi Kung intensively with choreographer Daria Fain and worked two years as an intern for Movement Research, studying contemporary dance, Skinner Releasing and improvisation.
After over five years living and working in New York, Jenn moved to Berlin in January 2009. In addition to giving Traditional Thai Massage treatments she offers individual and small group yoga lessons to beginners.
